Why You Should Not Fool Anyone On April Fool's Day
The true origin of April fool’s day remains uncertain owing to the numerous
explanations given. Even though the Bible does not contain any direct command
against observing the April Fools' Day, one can critically examine certain
Biblical principles and know that God does not approve of
tricks (whether harmless or funny) that are designed to anger, embarrass or
humiliate others
When it comes to
having fun or playing practical jokes at another's expense, Christians should
take to heart the principle that Jesus Christ set forth: "Just as you want
men to do to you, do the same way to them." (Luke 6:31). The April Fools’
Day, is a day when the opposite is done.
Pranks played on
April Fools’ Day (in the name of harmless fun) are usually set in motion
through lies, often leading to misunderstanding and confusion thus violating
one of God’s Ten Commandments: “You shall not bear false witness against your
neighbor.” (Ex. 20:16; Deut. 5:20)
Before playing a
practical joke on someone, ask yourself, “Would I like to be the object of the
joke?” The Bible counsels that we should never receive pleasure at the expense
of someone else’s embarrassment or hurt.
I’ve had a lot of April
Fool’s jokes pulled on me, and I must admit that I’ve pulled off a few
good ones myself. But one thing I’ve noticed: no one likes being called a fool, nor being made to look like a fool. Just before you go around tricking someone this day, remember this:
…whoever spreads slander is a fool(proverbs 10:18)

Nice job. So proud of you. Keep it up
